365 Scout v1 introduces a powerful visibility tool for MSPs, providing a centralized dashboard to track Microsoft 365 applications and users. With exportable Scouting Reports, automated alerts, governance controls, and quick-glance dashboard cards, MSPs can reduce app sprawl, improve oversight, and replace manual processes with streamlined reporting and monitoring.

🎯 Overview

We’re excited to announce the launch of 365 Scout v1, a new visibility tool designed for MSPs. 365 Scout provides a unified view of Microsoft 365 applications and users, delivering real-time insights into app usage, ownership, and security posture.

With the new Scouting Report, MSPs can see every application accessed through Microsoft 365 authentication—whether Microsoft-native or third-party—helping reduce application sprawl, close ownership gaps, and improve governance.

  • Integrate with Microsoft 365 to pull in all applications that users are connecting your company data to.

  • Scouting Report (PDF Export): Generate shareable reports on app usage and user details.

  • Status Overview Cards: Quick insights into total apps, users, and approval states directly on the 365 Scout dashboard.

  • Automated Alerts: Receive email notifications when new apps are discovered.

  • App & User Details:

    • App data includes vendor, product name, creation date, and status.

    • User data includes name, email, job title, and first connected date.

  • Status Controls: Assign ownership, departments, and approval statuses (Approved, Unknown, Restricted).

  • Filtering & Search: Filter by department, vendor, owner, or status, plus highlight recently discovered apps with the “Show New” badge.

🐞 Bug Fixes and Improvements

Alongside launching 365 Scout, we resolved several issues across BetterTracker products:

  • For Vendor:

    • Product creation now correctly shows the available number of categories.

    • Fixed an issue where blog post edits sometimes redirected to a white screen.

  • BetterTracker Users:

    • Expense transaction dropdown for stack products now displays the right results.

    • ProductTracker search bar now returns all possible results.

    • Monthly BetterTracker Report emails no longer send duplicates.

    • Resolved an issue where new users couldn’t add a bank account.
