Managing Channel Command folders

Channel Command folders allow you to organize content for your MSP partners as quick references. For instance, you can group material specific to a product or service you provide into a folder for easy access.

A single file can be added to multiple folders if needed, but editing or deleting the file will remove it from all folders it's contained within.

How to add folders

  1. From the side navigation click Channel Command.
  2. Click Manage Channel Portal.
  3. Click View Portal.
  4. Click Add Folder.
  5. Enter a name for the folder.
  6. Optionally, enter a folder description.
  7. Optionally, select a tag(s).
  8. Optionally, choose a folder color.
  9. Click Save.

How to add files

Before adding files, ensure that you've already added content and created folders.

Single file addition

  1. Scroll down to the appropriate content section.
  2. Locate the item from the content list.
  3. Clicking the 3-dots click Add to Folder.
  4. Choose the folder from the list.
  5. Click Save.

Add files to a single folder

  1. Scroll through the folder carousel or click See All to locate the folder.
  2. Click to open the folder.
  3. Click Add Content.
  4. Locate and select the desired content from the list.
  5. Check the box for the file(s) to be added.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Confirm the action by clicking Yes.

Add files to multiple folders

  1. From the Folders carousel click Add Content to Folder(s).
  2. Optionally, filter content by type and/or tag(s)
  3. Click in the Step 1 field and choose the item to add.
  4. Click in the Step 2 field. Select the folder(s) to add the item to.
  5. Repeat for additional content.
  6. Click Add Content to proceed.

How to organize folders

You can customize folder organization beyond alphabetical order by rearranging them as you prefer. However, remember to review the current organization if new folders are added afterward. Organizational changes affect all portal users, so assigning a single team member to manage content and folder structure can prevent unintended alterations.

  1. From the Folders carousel click See All.
  2. Click Organize Folders.
  3. Grab the file name or the 2-bars and drag the folder (up or down) into the preferred location.
  4. One the preferred order has been set, click Save.

How to change content visibility

Content, whether inside or outside of a folder, can be shown or hidden from your partners. Each folder can have its own visibility settings for its content.

  1. Scroll through the folder carousel or click See All to locate the folder.
  2. Click to open the folder.
  3. Clicking the 3-dots on a file.
  4. Choose the appropriate visibility level (Hide or Show).

How to remove a file

Removing content, distinct from deleting, simply takes the file out of a folder where it should no longer appear. For permanent deletion from your portal, refer to: How to edit, or delete Channel Command content?

  1. Scroll through the folder carousel or click See All to locate the folder.
  2. Click to open the folder.
  3. Clicking the 3-dots on a file, click Remove.
  4. Confirm by clicking Yes.
